Different scholars have attributed the defeat of the Indians to various causes, which can be summarised as follows: 1- Social Causes: According to prof. K.A. Nisami , " The defeat of the Indians lay in their social system and the invidious caste rickety and weakness " . i). Lack of Political Unity:- When Turk came in India, country was divided into many states and these states never wanted to cooperate among them. Indian kingdoms which were divided into different- different empires were fighting and every rule want to occupy as much territory as he can. Due to lack of cooperation among Indian rulers, when Turk attacked India each king/prince had to fight with them single-handed. So Turk found it very easy to defeat Indian rulers. Factors behind the success of Gauri/ Turkish invasion: Social Causes: 1- Lack of Unity:- Rajput lacked unity and organisation and were divided by the rivalries . Every Rajput king had hostile thinking towards the other kings (both Rajputs and non-rajputs).
